Cyprien Gaillard (*1980 in Paris) lives and works in Berlin and New York.
He often begins a new work by seeking out artefacts, monuments or buildings that seem to have lost their significance in the present. His nomadic gaze takes in urban and natural settings alike – places where beauty has grown out of decay or where violence has left scars on the landscape.
In 99 seconds, IKS presents the exhibition Number Eleven: Cyprien Gaillard at the Julia Stoschek Collection, Düsseldorf (26.09.2015–31.07.2016).
