Ryoji Ikeda (*1966 in Gifu, Japan) is a composer and visual artist. With great precision he translates physical phenomena and mathematical concepts into complex montages of sound and light.
For the Ruhrtriennale 2013 he developed test pattern [100 m version] especially for the Kraftzentrale in Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord: on a 100-metre-long projection, digital data turns into flickering barcodes. Visitors are both viewers and part of the image – an experience that involves all the senses.
