Rafał Milach (*1978 in Gliwice, Poland) is a Polish photographer and artist and has been a member of the agency Magnum Photos since 2018. He is the initiator and co-founder of The Archive of Public Protests (A-P-P), a collective of photographers, activists, writers, sociologists and visual artists.
Founded in 2019, the archive gathers visual testimonies of social protest in Poland since the right-wing populist PiS party came to power. The collection is intended as a warning against rising right-wing populism and discrimination – against xenophobia, homophobia, misogyny and the disregard of the climate crisis.
In 99 seconds, IKS presents the exhibition RAFAŁ MILACH. The Archive of Public Protests at Museum Folkwang, Essen (02.09.2023–01.01.2024).
